No-Rosion Fuel System Combustion Optimizer

Fuel is chemically less stable today than it has ever been! 

This is because chemicals such as tetraethyl lead, which at one time was used by refineries for octane enhancement of gasoline, has long since been banned by the EPA.  Today's fuel is instead blended with oxygenates such as ethanol, which is much less stable than tetraethyl lead, and vulnerable to chemical degradation.

Even when you think you're buying gasoline that contains no ethanol, you're usually not. In most states, ethanol is added, by law, to a minimum level of 5.9%. And it can be legally added to levels as high as 10% without being labeled specifically as an ethanol-containing blend. 

Through processes known as emulsion and oxidation, moisture and oxygen from air chemically react with ethanol in gasoline to form non-combustible byproducts.  These byproducts have a very negative effect on fuel volatility, which reduces octane and causes hard starts. Emulsified fuel can also cause fuel system corrosion, resulting in failures of fuel pumps and lines.  It also causes chemical degradation of plastic and rubber parts. As these materials degrade, they break into tiny pieces that clog fuel filters, injectors, and carburetors.

Running chemically degraded fuel through an engine causes rapid buildup of deposits on intake valves and piston crowns, and in combustion chambers. These deposits reduce combustion efficiency, causing preignition type detonation, reduced performance, drastic reductions in fuel economy, increased emissions, and potential engine damage.

 

 

 

   

How do carbon deposits cause detonation?

Carbon deposits in the combustion chamber form hot-spots that remain incandescent between combustion cycles. This causes ignition of the fuel charge before the regular ignition spark, resulting in detonation. If the premature combustion is completed before occurrence of the regular spark, there may be no identifying noise. So you will not even know that it is happening! But if the regular ignition spark follows shortly after the preignition occurs, you will hear a tell-tale pinging noise when the two flame fronts collide.  This is illustrated in the sequential series of images below.

 

No-Rosion Fuel System Combustion Optimizer is a highly concentrated, fully synthetic fuel additive that contains our proprietary polyether amine (PEA) detergent technology. It provides a very unique combination of benefits that would normally require the use of a few different types of fuel additives in order to be achieved.  Specifically:

Just how effective is No-Rosion Fuel System Combustion Optimizer in its ability to prevent oxidation of ethanol in today's gasoline blends? We are able to quantify its oxidation stabilization performance using the ASTM D525 Standard Test Method for Oxidation Stability of Gasoline. In this test, oxidation of gasoline is artificially accelerated by laboratory means. The amount of time before initial onset of gasoline oxidation is quantified. In our tests, our product outperformed several of the leading competitive gasoline stabilization products available on the market.
